Greetings!
I’m Wayne Bucher, President of the Parkcliffe Community, and I’d like to welcome you to our web site.
Chances are, you are visiting our site today because you or someone you know has a loved one with Alzheimer’s or Dementia. Perhaps you are hoping to find a better way of coping with this horrific disease not only for the sake of the individual who suffers from it but for those who struggle with the day-to-day challenges of caring for him or her.
The good news is our approach to care is truly unique, a different and better vision of what long-term care can and should be. At Parkcliffe, we provide understanding and dignity to individuals with Alzheimer's/Dementia. Our purpose is to help the person live the remainder of their natural life enjoying meaningful relationships with family, friends, neighbors and our staff.
Relationships are at the heart of what makes Parkcliffe truly unique we understand Alzheimer’s and Dementia are diseases that victimize not just individuals, but entire families.
This approach to care is the most important difference between the Parkcliffe Community and a nursing home environment. It is the guiding principle followed by our staff of dedicated, knowledgeable, compassionate individuals and it is echoed in the many cards and letters we receive from those whose lives we've touched.
For more than 30 years, we've helped hundreds of individuals and their families care for a loved one whose illness has gone beyond their capacity to manage at home. You'll see our approach to care reflected in the following comments:
• ALL our staff members are informed and knowledgeable in Alzheimer's-specific care, and understand how best to manage the symptoms and challenging behaviors characteristic of the disease.
“Nora and June you took care of my aunt and kept me informed when I needed to be.
Vicki your kind assessments made me feel better, even thought my aunt was declining.
Rosa you go beyond just being a “nurse”
Connie you called me when I needed to be called
Charlene you are a blessing to Parkcliffe! You truly treat every resident like your own family.”
Letter from a niece of a former Parkcliffe resident
• We understand each individual is loved and respected. They are your mothers and fathers, grandmas and grandpas, aunts and uncles. They deserve the same love, respect and dignity from their caregivers at Parkcliffe that they receive from their loved ones at home.
“How can I begin to thank all of you for the loving care you have given my mother all of these years? Your kind ways and support have meant so much to me.”
Letter from the daughter of a former Parkcliffe resident
• We are dedicated to providing a home for each resident that ensures a sense of safety and security, services that afford comfort and daily activities that offer meaning.
“We could not have predicted a smoother transition from our homes to yours. She seems to have settled very nicely because of the care, comfort and patience of your staff”
Letter from a resident’s daughter,
shortly following her mother’s move to Parkcliffe
• Our purpose is to provide an opportunity for EACH resident to live the remainder of their natural life with dignity and kindness.
“It was reassuring to know that her caregiver provided more than medical and physical support. Your kind and patient words and deeds surely comforted her body and soul, and added immeasureably to both her sense of security and ours.”
Letter from the family of a former Parkcliffe resident
